Apart from Rajinikanth, Jailer also features Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, Shiva Rajkumar, Sunil, Ramya Krishnan, Vinayakan, Mirnaa Menon, and Tamannaah Bhatia in key roles.
Jailer is touted to be a retired spy who is forced to return to action when his son, a police officer, is killed by a drug mafia.
The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, who has also worked with Nelson in the past.
