In recent days there has been buzz surrounding the potential sequel to ‘Jailer’ an action thriller starring Rajinikanth as a formidable cop taking on an infamous idol smuggling racket, ultimately becoming a massive blockbuster. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film was produced by Sun Pictures.
Sources in the Kollywood industry suggest that director Nelson is already immersed in crafting the script for the sequel, tentatively titled ‘Jailer 2’. What adds to the surprise is the inclusion of Nayanthara, who portrayed the lead role in Nelson’s debut film ‘Kolamavu Kokila’. Nayanthara is set to portray her character as Kokila, a middle-class girl entangled in a drug smuggling operation in ‘Jailer 2.’
The storyline of ‘Jailer 2’ will pick up from the events of ‘Jailer’ where Rajinikanth‘s character Muthuvel Pandian, a former police officer, dismantles the idol smuggling ring led by his gang. However, with Varma’s associates still on the loose they harbor revenge against Muthuvel Pandian and his family. In a twist of fate, Muthuvel Pandian’s path will intersect with Kokila, who is poised to play a crucial role in the unfolding plot.
If these rumors prove true, ‘Jailer 2’ will mark the sixth collaboration between Nayanthara and Rajinikanth, following their previous ventures in ‘Chandramukhi,’ ‘Kuselan,’ ‘Sivaji,’ ‘Darbar,’ and ‘Annaththe.’ However, enthusiasts will have to await an official confirmation from the makers of ‘Jailer 2’ before fully embracing the excitement.
