Silk Smitha was the most popular actress in the South Indian cinema industry during the 1980s and early 1990s. She was in high demand due to her glamour and ability to attract large crowds. Today is her birthday, and to honor her, Director Jayaram unveiled a biopic about Silk Smitha.
The movie will star Chandrika Ravi, who became famous for her captivating dances in the special song in Veera Simha Reddy, as Silk Smitha. The film will be produced by S B Vijay through STRI Cinemas, and V. Mahastri Amirtharaj will direct it.
The makers have announced a new project and also introduced Chandrika Ravi’s character as Silk Smitha. Chandrika Ravi bears an uncanny resemblance to Silk Smitha and looks flirtatious with wide-open eyes and an anxious biting of nails. She is draped in a saree and sports a Bindi on her forehead, which was the usual style of Silk Smitha. With the blessings of her family, the makers will narrate the untold story of Silk Smitha to the world.
The regular shoot of the movie will begin soon, and the movie is planned for release in 2024 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. The other cast and crew will be revealed later.
