The supernatural thriller ‘Shaitaan’, featuring the dynamic duo of Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan, has taken the box office by storm. Within just five days of its release, the film has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide, a remarkable achievement in such a short span!
This stellar performance firmly established ‘Shaitaan’ as one of the highest-grossing Indian films of 2024 to date. Impressively, the movie has amassed over Rs 74 crore domestically, demonstrating its strong appeal to the Indian audience. It has also garnered Rs 27+ crore from the international market, bringing its total worldwide earnings to Rs 100+ crore. Directed by Vikas Bahl, ‘Shaitaan’ hit theatres worldwide on March 8 with a bang. The horror thriller made an impressive debut, earning Rs 17.75 crore on its opening day. Fuelled by positive word-of-mouth, the collections surged with the film raking in Rs 18.75 crore on the second day and Rs 20.5 crore on the third day.
In addition to Devgan and Madhavan, ‘Shaitaan’ features stellar performances from Jyothika, Janki Bodiwala, and Anngad Raaj. It is a remake of the 2013 Gujarati film ‘Vash.’ While the film continues its successful run at the box office, it faces stiff competition from Sidharth Malhotra, Raashii Khanna, and Disha Patani’s ‘Yodha,’ slated to hit theaters on March 15.
