2023 marks the resurrection year for Shahrukh Khan, as he delivered hat-trick hits of which two were huge blockbusters in the same year. Jawan and Pathaan which are high with adrenaline-pumping action sequences have enthralled audiences with their stunning action sequences. Now, it is time to get recognition and reward for all the hard work both teams have put on in the international stage.
The prestigious Vulture’s Stunt Awards recently unveiled its nominations for the year 2023, with Pathaan and Jawan securing spots alongside Hollywood biggies like Keanu Reeves’ John Wick 4 and Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning. The inclusion of Indian films, especially in the action category, is a rare and noteworthy occurrence.
Pathaan, Directed by Siddharth Anand and featuring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in pivotal roles, has earned nominations for Best Aerial Stunt(the Jet-Pack Fight) and Best Overall Action Film. Atlee’s directorial venture, Jawan, has garnered nominations in three categories: Best Vehicular Stunt, Best Stunt in an Action Film (both for the highway chase sequence), and Best Overall Action Film.
Other movies that got nominated for Best Overall Action Film include Ballerina, Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant, Extraction 2, Fist of the Condor, John Wick: Chapter 4, Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One, Silent Night and Shin Kamen Rider. The final voting period is now open, with the winners set to be announced on March 4.
