Rajinikanth Lal Salaam: Recently, we reported the possibility of Lal Salaam, Aishwarya Rajinikanth‘s sports drama featuring Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth, skipping its previously announced Pongal release. The film, which boasts an extended cameo by Superstar Rajinikanth, was initially slated for a Pongal release next year.
While an official confirmation is still yet to come, Lyca Productions, the film’s production house made a significant announcement yesterday about their other venture Mission: Chapter 1 headlined by Arun Vijay, set to hit screens during the Pongal season. Directed by AL Vijay this action-packed film’s announcement raises questions about the feasibility of releasing two films from the same production house during the festival season. Indirectly, this has led to speculations that Lal Salaam might be postponed indefinitely.
Earlier, Lal Salaam’s makers had aimed for a Pongal release, even garnering support from Superstar Rajinikanth who released a special video expressing confidence in the film’s timely arrival. However, Telugu releases are also eyeing the Sankranthi date including Ravi Teja’s Eagle and Mahesh Babus’s Guntur Kaaram, considering all these films, Postponement is on the cards.
The film which is a sports drama has Vishnu Vishal in the leading role with Vikranth playing a leading character alongside him. The sports drama features Vishnu Vishal in a leading role alongside Vikranth, with a special cameo appearance by Indian cricketing legend Kapil Dev.
