Siddu Jonnalagadda gears up for the highly anticipated sequel to his blockbuster hit DJ Tillu, aptly titled Tillu Square. Advance bookings for the film commenced two days ago, garnering a decent response. Pre-bookings within Hyderabad city alone have surpassed the 1 crore mark with an occupancy rate of around 25% which is an average figure. Yet, given the expectations surrounding the sequel and its release coinciding with a holiday (Good Friday), the initial numbers appear somewhat underwhelming.
DJ Tillu amassed a staggering share of approximately 20 Crores in 2022, emerging as a box office sensation. However, the stakes are notably higher for Tillu Square. Trade pundits project that Tillu square must rakes around 30 Crores to break even. With the onset of summer vacations and a slew of upcoming holidays, there remains a fair possibility of achieving this target, notwithstanding competition from rival films like Family Star.
Nevertheless, should the audience feedback prove unfavorable, the film could encounter challenges at the ticket counters. The unveiling of the film’s official trailer took place yesterday, accompanied by a grand pre-release extravaganza. Whether this spectacle translates into a significant surge in ticket sales remains to be witnessed.
