On Diwali, Salman Khan delighted his fans with his action-packed spy movie Tiger 3, and the audience returned the favor by giving the movie an incredible start at the box office.
The film also brings back the superhit jodi of Salman and Katrina as Tiger and Zoya on the big screen. Tiger 3, which takes place after the events of Pathaan, follows Salman’s titular spy as he races against time to save his nation and family. Shah Rukh Khan also makes a special appearance as Pathaan and saves Tiger from a tough situation.
Tiger 3 made 43 crore on Day 1 according to Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film made 57.5 crore on Day 2 which not only gave the biggest opening yet but has also breezed past the 100 crore mark in just two days.
Directed by Maneesh Sharma Tiger 3, stars Emraan Hashmi as the antagonist. In addition to Hindi, the spy thriller has also been released in Telugu and Tamil. It is the fifth movie in the YRF Spy Universe.
Taran Adarsh said ‘While no major Hindi film has released on Diwali Day in more than a decade (film biz is severely impacted since people are busy with festivities and Laxmi Puja), Tiger 3 emerges as a game changer’, referring to the movie as a “game changer.”
With this, Salman Khan’s top five openers are now Tiger 3, Bharat, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Sultan, and Tiger Zinda Hai.
In addition to the Tiger franchise, The other films in the YRF Spy Universe are Pathaan led by Shah Rukh Khan, and War starring Hrithik Roshan.
