Bobby Deol fresh off his award-winning performance in ‘Animal’, has landed an antagonist role in the YRF Spy universe. Despite limited screen time in ‘Animal’, Deol’s action sequences have impressed audiences even without dialogue. This upcoming YRF film marks a first for the Spy Universe a female lead who is none other than Alia Bhatt. She takes center stage as an agent joined by Sharvari Wagh (Bunty Aur Babli 2). The project is helmed by director Shiv Rawail (The Railway Men) and is expected to begin filming this year.
Launched in 2012 with ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, the YRF Spy Universe has grown to include the ‘Tiger’ franchise, ‘War’, and the upcoming ‘Pathaan’. ‘War 2’ with Hrithik Roshan and Ntr is currently in production while ‘Tiger Vs Pathaan’ is also on the horizon. Deol’s recent success in ‘Animal’ wasn’t his first foray into villainy. He earned a 2023 Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for his antagonistic role. Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt recently made her Hollywood debut as a hacker in ‘Heart of Stone’ alongside Gal Gadot.
