Following the phenomenal success of the Kannada and multilingual blockbuster ‘Kantara’, actor-director Rishab Shetty is set to raise the bar once again with the upcoming prequel, ‘Kantara Chapter 1.’ Produced by Hombale Films, this period action thriller has generated buzz with a sneak peek, promising a captivating and immersive storyline akin to its predecessor.
While filming for the project has commenced discreetly, details regarding the cast have been closely guarded by the production team. Aside from Rishab Shetty reprising his role as the lead character and a few familiar faces from the original ‘Kantara’ specifics about the extended cast. especially the female lead, remain shrouded in secrecy. However, rumors suggest that discussions are underway with acclaimed actress Rakmini Vasanth.
Renowned for her stellar performances in films such as Rakshit Shetty‘s “Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A and Side B,” Rukmini Vasanth has emerged as a sought-after talent in Kannada cinema and beyond. Sources indicate that Rukmini has undergone a screen test for the role, with negotiations ongoing.
Amidst these developments, Rukmini is currently engaged in multiple projects. She eagerly anticipates the release of ‘Bagheera,’ starring Srimurali, and ‘Bairathi Ranagal,’ a mass entertainer directed by Narth, where she shares the screen with Shivarajkumar. Furthermore, she is poised for her Tamil debut opposite Vijay Sethupathi in a film helmed by Arumugakumar. Additionally, Rukmini is part of a significant project directed by AR Murugadoss, alongside Sivakarthikeyan.
