RRR Adapted For A Stage Show In Japan

The esteemed all-female musical theater troupe hailing from Japan, The Takarazuka Revue, recently dazzled audiences with their adaptation of SS Rajamouli’s acclaimed film ‘RRR’ into a spectacular musical production. Rajamouli, expressing his heartfelt appreciation, shared glimpses from the show, lauding the 110-year-old theater group for their vibrant and enthralling performance.

On his social media post, Rajamouli expressed, “It’s a privilege to witness the 110-year-old Takarazuka company adapt our RRR into a musical. To the Japanese audience, thank you for embracing the Broadway rendition of RRR just as passionately as the film itself. Your response has left me overwhelmed… I cannot commend all the performers enough for their boundless energy, remarkable talent, and meticulous dedication to the show.”

Concluding his post with the Japanese phrase “ARIGATO GOZAIMASU,” meaning “Thank You” in English, Rajamouli shared a video capturing the moment as he graciously acknowledged the thunderous applause from the audience. He also shared snapshots alongside the gifted performers of the ‘RRR’ musical. Fans worldwide celebrated this remarkable feat, showering Rajamouli with congratulations and admiration. Comments flooded his post, expressing joy and admiration, with many hailing him as the “Pride of India” and the “Raja of Indian Cinema.”

‘RRR’ has garnered accolades, clinching the Best Original Song awards at both the Golden Globes and Oscars. The film, boasting a stellar cast including Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Ajay Devgn, and Samuthirakani, loosely depicts the lives of freedom fighters Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The musical score for the film is composed by MM Keeravaani.
