After their successful collaboration on Sanju, Rajkumar Hirani and Vicky Kaushal have joined forces again for the comedy-drama film Dunki. Known for his directorial ventures like 3 Idiots and PK, Rajkumar Hirani shared details about casting Vicky in a distinctive role tailored specifically for him in the Shah Rukh Khan-led movie.
Rajkumar expressed “Vicky brought Kamli’s character to life in the film Sanju with his performance and subtle Gujarati accent leaving a lasting impression”. Now, audiences will witness more of Vicky’s charisma and talent as this actor-director duo reunites for ‘Dunki’ presenting yet another intriguing character.
During a conversation with Vicky’s father renowned action director Sham Kaushal Rajkumar revealed the existence of a highly significant role in ‘Dunki’ specifically crafted for Vicky. Despite not being the lead role Rajkumar hesitated to offer it to him.
To his surprise Vicky called the same evening and declared “I’m willing to play any role in your film. No one else will do it but me.” A glimpse of Vicky’s character was showcased in the film’s trailer during Dunki Drop 4 sparking curiosity among cinephiles. Dunki, featuring Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani and others is scheduled for a worldwide release on December 21.
