Having recently made his mark in the OTT deal with Amazon Prime’s supernatural thriller series, ‘Dhootha,’ where he portrayed a journalist, Naga Chaitanya is now venturing into his next cinematic endeavor with his latest film ‘Thandel’.
Directed by Chandoo Mondeti and produced by Geetha Arts, this movie draws its inspiration from true events. Fascinated by the narrative, Chaitanya has fully committed himself to the project, actively participating in pre-production activities. He underwent a transformative change in appearance, growing his beard and hair to align with the character’s requirements. Currently being filmed in Udipi, Karnataka, ‘Thandel’ features Sai Pallavi as the female lead.
In an exclusive conversation, Chaitanya expressed his enthusiasm for ‘Thandel’, describing it as a captivating story inspired by real events in Andhra Pradesh in 2018. While it unfolds as a love story, the film delves into the lives of Srikakulam fishermen presenting an inspiring narrative that questions the political landscape of that time.
Coming from a cinematic lineage deeply rooted in his family, with iconic figures like his father Nagarjuna and grandfather A Nageshwar Rao in Telugu cinema, along with prominent names like D Rama Naidu, Venkatesh, and Rana Dagubatti on the maternal side, Chaitanya navigates his career with a wealth of wisdom.
Speaking about his dynamic with his father, Chaitanya revealed that while they keep work discussions casual during dinner, they also have dedicated moments to delve into work-related matters. He appreciates the healthy work-life balance at home and highlights his father’s principled approach. When asked about Nagarjuna’s feedback, Chaitanya described him more as a friend who casually offers opinions, fostering a learning process through mistakes. He emphasized his father’s belief in expressing thoughts openly and exploring creative ideas without restraint.
