Two Upcoming Telugu films, ‘Thandel’ and ‘Matka’, have garnered attention for their distinctive concepts and star-studded casts. However, Amazon Prime Video’s recent releases seem to have a similar narrative to these films. ‘Arabia Kadali’ narrates the story of a fisherman hailing from he rival villages who find themselves incarcerated in a foreign prison after straying into international waters. Notably, this premise bears resemblance to a segment shown in ‘Thandel’, where Naga Chaitanya‘s character, a fishing board captain faces imprisonment in Pakistani Jail.
Likewise, ‘Matka King’ on Prime Video stars Vijay Varma in a narrative loosely inspired by the origins of the Matka gambling underworld, reminiscent of the reported storyline of Varun Tej’s ‘Matka.’ The unveiling of these series before the films’ releases may invite comparisons and potentially impact their box office performance. It remains to be observed how these parallels will influence the audience’s reception of ‘Thandel’ and ‘Matka’.
