Varun Tej, renowned for his adventurous spirit in the realm of cinema, is ready to embark on another bold film project. Despite his impressive performances as an Air Force Officer in ‘Operation Valentine’, directed by Shakti Pratap Singh Hada, the film didn’t resonate well with the audience as anticipated. Yet, Varun unfazed by triumphs or setbacks, persists in pushing the boundaries with each project he undertakes.
Now, with hopes of a resounding return, Varun places his bets on his forthcoming film, ‘Matka’ Directed by Karuna Kumar, the filming commenced several months back, with Varun diverting his focus from ‘Operation Valentine’ to fully immerse himself in ‘Matka’. The third phase of shooting for ‘Matka’. an action-packed entertainer set against a historical backdrop is on the horizon.
In ‘Matka’, Varun is set to portray three distinct characters, embodying roles of a 20-year-old, a 30-year-old, and a 50-year-old. To authentically portray the 50-year-old character, Varun has committed to a natural weight gain regimen, removing the use of prosthetics. The transformation presents a significant challenge as Varun will later need to shed the added weight for the film’s continuity. Nonetheless, if successful, this physical metamorphosis could earn Varun widespread acclaim on a national scale.
Varun’s approach in “Matka” echoes that of Bollywood luminary Aamir Khan, who underwent a similar transformation for his role in “Dangal,” transitioning from weight gain to a chiseled physique. Varun’s diverse repertoire of roles throughout his career, coupled with his upcoming portrayal in “Matka,” underscores his versatility as an actor. The audience awaits eagerly to witness how Varun will captivate them with his rendition of these three distinct characters in ‘Matka’.
