Is Saindhav Inspired By This Hollywood Film?

In this generation of getting new films to audiences within a month of their theatrical debut, it becomes imperative for filmmakers to conceive original and distinctive ideas for their projects. Emerging director Sailesh Kolanu has exhibited promise with his initial endeavors, namely HIT 1 and HIT 2, and has even revealed plans for HIT 3. Both films revolve around the pursuit of a psychotic killer, engagingly delivering investigative tales.

Sailesh now captures the opportunity to direct a film titled ‘Saindhav’, featuring Victory Venkatesh. From the start of the project, he emphasized it to be a full-fledged action-oriented film showcasing an intense role, sparking excitement among fans and movie enthusiasts. The recently released trailer has heightened anticipation for the film.

According to the trailer, ‘Saindhav’ centers around a dying daughter, the focal point of her ex-hitman father’s world. To save her, he requires a valuable artifact worth Rs 16 Crores. Venky embarks on a mission to procure the artifact in his signature style, accompanied by Arya, Nawazuddin, Shraddha Srinath, and Andrea Jeremiah in pivotal roles.

Addressing speculation about its inspiration, ‘Saindhav’ draws comparisons with the Hollywood film ‘Sweet Girl’ starring Jason Momoa of Aquaman fame. Both films share a common theme of securing medicine to save a loved one, with ‘Sweet Girl’ focusing on a wife and ‘Saindhav’ adapting the narrative to a daughter in the Telugu context. The film’s release is scheduled for January 13th, coinciding with Sankranthi, and audiences eagerly await to discover if ‘Saindhav’ is a remake or an original creation.
