Renowned Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal is receiving praise for his significant role in Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki which premiered today. 2023 has marked a thriving year for Vicky Kaushal with multiple theatrical releases. He began the year with Zara Hotke Zara Bachke followed by Sam Bahadur earlier this month where he portrayed Sam Manekshaw India’s first Field Marshal and Chief of Army Staff, under the direction of Meghna Gulzar.
The versatile actor is now all set to play another real personality in the upcoming film Chhava centered around the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Directed by Rahul Janardan Jadhav, Chhava commenced filming in October this year and is reportedly slated for a 2024 release.
Interestingly, a Marathi film based on the same historical personality, titled Shivrayancha Chhava, is set to hit theaters on February 16, 2024.
While the lead actor for Shivrayancha Chhava remains undisclosed, the recently unveiled poster depicts the silhouette of a robust individual ready to confront a tiger in the jungle. This Marathi film marks the sixth installment in the series of 8 films on Maratha history announced by filmmaker Digpal Lanjekar. Previous films in the series include Farzand, Fatteshikast, Pawankhind, Sher Shivraj, and Subhedar, with Chinmay Mandlekar and Mrinal Kulkarni portraying Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Rajmata Jijabai in each installment. Notably, Vicky Kaushal’s Chhava will feature Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead, adding an extra layer of anticipation to this historical saga.
