Dunki Celebration: Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki made its theatrical release today, marking Shah Rukh Khan’s third film release of the year following Pathaan and Jawan. Fans couldn’t keep calm as the star has his third film release of the year, Expecting to break even more records in box office collections than his previous films.
Many people are even calling it as ‘Dunki Day,’ the film stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, and of course Shah Rukh Khan in pivotal roles. Fans nationwide eagerly queued up for the morning show turning the occasion into a festive affair with dhol beats, Dunki Melas, fireworks, and an abundance of Shah Rukh Khan cutout posters.
Social media platforms are flooded with videos capturing the exuberant atmosphere outside theaters, where fans dance, some even dressed as Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki character, Hardy.
Responding to the mood, Shah Rukh Khan took to social media and humorously urged fans to go inside the theaters, watch the movie, and share their enjoyment, saying,
“Arre ab picture dekhne toh jao ya bahar hi kushti karte rahoge. Go in see the movie and tell me if u all enjoyed it. Dunki”
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Dunki is the first collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani. The film faces a box office clash with Prashanth Neel’s Salaar, featuring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
