With the election schedule released, Andhra Pradesh has swiftly transitioned into election mode, preparing for the single-phase elections encompassing both MLA and MP segments scheduled for May 13th. The Election Mode of Conduct is already in force. Recently, the makers of ‘Ustad Bhagat Singh’ unveiled a gripping teaser, featuring Pawan Kalyan portraying a formidable cop, garnering a positive response from fans. However, the film may face hurdles and necessitate approval from the Election Commission (EC), as campaigning during the Code of Conduct requires specific permissions.
During a press briefing, Andhra Pradesh Chief Election Officer Mukesh Meena was questioned about the teaser but indicated he hadn’t viewed it and thus refrained from commenting. He stressed the importance of seeking permission from campaigns under the Code of Conduct. Meena highlighted that a decision regarding the teaser’s potential political content would be made upon review.
The teaser included a dialogue referencing a glass becoming sharper upon shattering, alluding to the party’s election symbol, the Glass Tumbler. This snippet circulated widely on social media platforms courtesy of fans. Pawan Kalyan mentioned delivering the dialogue under the director’s insistence, as he typically avoids such rhetoric. Nonetheless, the Election Official reiterated the necessity of permission for political content, hinting at potential hurdles for Janasena in securing clearance.
