The pre-wedding festivities of Ananth Ambani and Radhika Merchant have garnered attention for several reasons, notably for the limited representations from Tollywood with Ram Charan and his wife Upasana being the prominent attendees amidst a Bolloywood-dominated guest list.
During the event, Ram Charan along with the Khan trio captivated the audience with a lively performance of the popular Naatu Naatu song igniting a frenzy on the internet. However, the atmosphere turned sour when Shahrukh Khan’s remarks toward Ram Charan sparked widespread criticism. Expressing deep hurt over Shahrukh Khan’s onstage reference to Ram Charan as ‘Idly’ and ‘Vada’, the Upasana makeup artist openly addressed the issue and left the event. This incident left many Telugu audiences disheartened.
This isn’t the first instance where Bollywood stars have made disparaging remarks about South Indian cinema stars, leading to tensions between the two industries. While some may perceive such comments as light-hearted banter, they are often seen as disrespectful by Telugu audiences and fans.
