Despite being a part of the successful YRF Spy Universe Salman Khan’s recent film ‘Tiger 3’ failed at the box office. The series which began with Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai followed by blockbusters like War and Pathaan faced disappointment with Tiger 3 failing to match the success of its successes and not meeting Salman Khan‘s expectations for a significant comeback.
Reports indicate that Salman Khan was let down with the inadequately written script which did not measure up to the quality of other spy-themed films in the series. This underperformance has even led an uncertainty on the future of the YRF Spy Universe.
Initially, the plans included sequels like War 2 and Tiger vs Pathaan following Tiger 3. While work on War 2 is currently in progress rumors suggest Salman’s lack of interest in participating in Tiger vs Pathaan has caused a delay in the movie’s schedule. There is even a rumor that Tiger 3 might face cancellation.
Salman Khan has committed to his next project ‘The Bull’ directed by Vishnu Vardhan and produced by Karan Johar. The fate of the YRF Spy Universe now depends on the success of War 2 featuring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. If War 2 fails, it may signal the end of the Spy series but if it succeeds there could be potential for more films in this universe.
