Shalini Pandey: The Animal team recently unveiled its trailer, initiating attention for the dynamics between Ranbir Kapoor’s and Rashmika Mandanna’s characters. As the film’s release approaches, Shalini Pandey known for her role in Arjun Reddy reflected on the backlash her movie faced for perceived misogyny.
In an interview with News18, Shalini shared, ‘I was 21 when I signed the film. For me, it was bigger than anything else—acting in a film, getting paid for it, and taking my first step towards becoming an actor. It was like a dream.’ She emphasized the fun she had during the shoot, expressing her youthfulness at that time. Shalini holds the film and her character close to her heart, referring to Arjun Reddy as her ‘baby.’
Regarding opinions on the film, Shalini stated, ‘I’m not trying to defend the film here. In fact, I don’t think I would want to put any opinion out there because it doesn’t matter in any way.’ She acknowledged the evolving nature of perspectives and the diverse opinions people hold.
As Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, gears up for its December 1 release, it will share the cinema space with Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur. Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the director, expressed satisfaction with Animal receiving an ‘A’ certificate.
