Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing music creation in the Indian Film Industry, gaining momentum with each passing day. Recently, AR Rahman stirred controversy when he employed AI to recreate the voices of late singers Bamba Bakya and Shahul Hameed for a track in Rajinikanth‘s Lal Salaam sparking a heated debate among audiences. Before Rahman’s venture Hesham Abdul Wahab showcased AI’s potential in music production with a song in Nani’s blockbuster Hi Nanna. However, Vivek Sagar’s AI recreation of the late legend SP Balasubrahmanyam’s voice in Keeda Cola faced criticism and backlash.
Now, the spotlight is on MM Keeravani, the maestro behind the Oscar-winning song Naatu Naatu (RRR), Who is pioneering AI-assisted music creation. His upcoming release, Love Me-If You Dare, featuring Ashish Reddy and Vaishnavi Chaitanya, has made history at the film’s audio launch. Dil Raju disclosed that Keeravani utilized AI to compose the entire song, Ghost Love, marking a groundbreaking moment as the first Telugu music director to embrace this technology.
Produced by Harshith Reddy, Hanshitha Reddy, and Naga Mallidi, the project boasts the renowned cinematographer PC Sreeram, adding further excitement to this innovative musical endeavor. AI’s integration into film music is not just a trend; it’s a transformative leap into the future of music creation.
