Malyalam Film Drishyam Goes Hollywood

The 2013 Malayalam crime thriller ‘Drishyam’ directed by Jeetu Joseph and starring Mohanlal and Meena, achieved remarkable success at the box office, sparking remakes in various Indian languages. Renowned actors like Kamal Hassan, Venkatesh, and Bollywood star Ajay Devgan appeared in the Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi versions respectively further solidifying its widespread popularity.

The sequel cemented its status as a Pan-Indian sensation, paving the way for a third installment currently in development, with filming scheduled to commence next year. Expanding its reach beyond national borders, ‘Drishyam’ is now set for a Hollywood adaptation. Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak, who initially announced a Korean remake at Canees in 2023, have now partnered with Gulf Stream Pictures and Joat Films for the Hollywood version.
