Bubblegum Makers Refuse Censor Plea

The much-anticipated GenZ love story, ‘Bubblegum,’ which marks the debut of Roshan Kanakala, has completed its censor formalities, securing an A certificate from the censor board.

During the censor review, officials recommended certain cuts to grant the movie a U/A certificate, suggesting that the film’s positive message should be accessible to family audiences. However, the makers opted against the suggested cuts, expressing concerns that it would disrupt the flow and diminish the intensity of crucial sequences.

The makers claim that ‘Bubblegum’ includes lip-lock and intimate scenes, asserting that these elements are integral to the storyline, providing a natural touch to the story. Despite the A certificate, they believe positive word-of-mouth post-release will attract diverse audiences to theaters, with the youth demographic already showing significant interest. The final duration of the film is 2 hours and 28 minutes.

Directed by Ravikanth Perepu under Maheshwari Movies and People Media Factory banners, ‘Bubblegum’ has generated buzz through its teaser, trailer, and songs, with debutant Roshan Kanakala earning praise for his flawless performance. The film is scheduled for release in just 6 days, hitting theaters on December 29th.
