Bobby Deol Admits Getting Disgusted Playing Abrar’s Character

Bobby Deol has become the center of media attention post the release of his recent film ‘Animal’. In his recent interview, he openly admits to feeling repulsed while portraying a controversial character in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s directorial venture.

In a recent interview, Bobby Deol shared his initial discomfort during the filming process, acknowledging the ‘disgust’ he experienced with himself. Reflecting on his evolving perspective, he emphasized that ultimately, he was portraying a character and despite intense scenes with certain individuals, found it normal to share an evening meal with them afterward.

In a roundtable discussion Bobby provided insights into his character in Animal describing it as “family-oriented” and “romantic.” Defying the conventional villain archetype, his character is portrayed as a traumatized individual who witnesses his grandfather’s suicide, resulting in a loss of voice. The character is deeply connected to family, displaying romantic aspects with three wives and a commitment to protecting them at any cost.

Animal, released on December 1, revolves around into the toxic relationship between a man and his father. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film portrays Vijay (played by Ranbir) as an anti-hero striving for approval from his emotionally distant father (played by Anil Kapoor). Despite Vijay’s relentless efforts, his relationship struggles impact his connection with his wife, played by Rashmika Mandanna.

The film has faced criticism for allegedly glorifying misogyny and toxic masculinity on social media. However, despite controversies Animal has proven to be a box office success surpassing the Rs 500 crore mark in India. Its financial success suggests resonance with audiences, even as it sparks discussions about thematic choices and character portrayals.
