After a long gap, Boyapati Srinu has made a film titled Skanda, which features Ram Pothineni and Sree Leela in the lead. The film hit the screens today. Check out our review before you are planning to watch the film.
Plot: Ram Pothineni kidnaps the daughters of Telangana CM Ranjith Reddy (Sharath Lohithaswa) and AP CM Rayudu (Ajay Purkar). The two CMs are former friends. Their equations get changed due to their children. Businessman Rudrakanti Ramakrishna Raju (Srikanth) confesses to a crime he didn’t commit for the sake of his daughter Parineeta (Saiee Manjrekar).
Why does Ram kidnap the daughters of the two CMs? What motivated him to kidnap their daughters? Is there a thread connecting the fallen businessman and the two CMs?
Performances: Ram Pothineni looks terrific and shines in his role. He looks ultra-mass and stylish. He is particularly good in the climax. He sports two contrasting looks. Sree Leela looks decent in her role. The rest of the cast is good and apt and did their part in the film.
Saiee Manjrekar gets a larger role compared to Indraja and Gauthami. The actors who played the two CMs are adequate.
Analysis: Skanda is a predictable story from beginning to end. The narration is very flat. Most of Boyapati Sreenu’s movies have a thorough interval bang. They make the audience go bonkers. However, Skanda doesn’t give any shivers because of its predictable nature.
The second half of Skanda makes you want to run away. The climax doesn’t create any hype for Skanda 2. The climax could have been better but it is non-sensical. The music by SS Thaman is unbearable.
- Ram Pothineni
- Action blocks. Stun Siva is the action choreographer and he deserves accolades.
- Production values
- Predictable story
Verdict: Skanda is a mindless film with unbearable music. Skanda is loaded with a lot of action scenes that don’t know what logic means.
