The second season of the popular Telugu web series, Save The Tigers, titled Save The Tigers 2, was released on the Disney Plus Hotstar OTT platform on March 15. If you are curious to know whether the latest season lives up to the hype or not, check out our review.

Story: The story picks up where it left off, with Ghanta Ravi (Played by Priyadarshi), Rahul(Played by Abhinav Gomatam), and Vikram (played by Krishna Chaitanya) being taken into police custody on suspicion of Kidnapping the famous actress Hamsaleka(Played by Seerat Kapoor). However, things take an unexpected turn when Hamsalekha approaches the authorities, clearing the trio’s names, and even forming an unlikely friendship with them. Meanwhile, Vikram and Hansika (Played by Darshana Banik) are working on a project, Rahul is writing a story of Hamsalekha, and Ghanta Ravi is nurturing his ambitions of securing the Corporatoor seat. How successful were they in their endeavors? How did their spouses react to their actions? The storyline follows the twists and turns of the character’s lives.

Technical Aspects:

Director Arun Kothapally, along with creative inputs from Mahi V Raghav and Pradeep Advaitham has made the series an enjoyable and suitable viewing experience for families. The series has maintained satisfactory production values, especially in terms of music, cinematography, and editing. However, some of the middle episodes such as the one set in 10000 BC, could have been improved with smoother editing to maintain the narrative flow.

Plus Points:

  • Credit to show creators Mahi V Raghav and Pradeep Advaitham for managing the sequel adeptly.
  • Priyadarshi steals the show with an admirable performance.
  • Abhinav Gomatiam shines with witty punches and impeccable comedic timing
  • Chaitanya Krishna impresses with solid performance
  • Female leads (Jordan Sujata, Pavani Gangireddy, and Deviyani Sharma) contribute effectively to the narrative
  • The initial three episodes offer hilarious laughter
  • Mukku Avinash entertains despite limited screen time

Minus Points:

  • The series leaves a positive impression overall but Occasional dips in entertainment value can be seen, notably in the fourth episode
  • More effort is needed to inject humor into duller episodes
  • Seerat Kapoor’s role was well-portrayed but could have been expanded for additional substance
  • Rohini’s character feels underutilized compared to the first season
  • Scenes focusing on Vikram’s mother-in-law lack impact
  • Discussions about pets lack impact
  • Darshana Banik’s role could have been developed further

Save The Tigers 2 is a comedy series that is enjoyable to watch, thanks to the commendable performances of the lead actors, especially Priyadarchi and Abhinav Gomatam. However, there are some drawbacks, such as occasional dips in entertainment value, slow-paced narration in certain episodes, and limited comedic moments from characters like Rohini. Despite these challenges, the sequel is still a good option for daily viewing over the weekend, although it may not be as entertaining as the first season.
