Basava, portrayed by Sundeep Kishan, is a daring stuntman with a penchant for stealing valuable jewelry. Their journey takes an unexpected turn when they encounter Geetha (Kavya Thapar), who feigns an accident to gain their attention.

Story: ‘Ooru Peru Bhairavakona’ follows Basava, portrayed by Sandeep Kishan who is a daring stuntman with a penchant for stealing valuable jewelry. Alongside his trusty sidekick, John (Viva Harsha), Basava embarks on a getaway from the rural village. their journey takes an unexpected turn when they encounter Geetha (Kavya Thapar), who feigns an accident to gain their attention. Their path leads them to Bhairavakona, a mysterious village where their stolen loot intertwines with supernatural forces, trapping them within its confines. As they navigate the eerie village and attempt to reclaim their treasures, they face unexpected challenges and confrontations.

Performances: Sundeep Kishan delivers a commendable performance, exuding sincerity and skill throughout the film. His screen presence and dialogue delivery captivate audiences, supported by Viva Harsha’s impressive portrayal. Kavya Thapar showcases growing confidence in her role, while Varsha Bollama excels in a substantial part. However, Ravi Shankar’s performance falls short due to an overly dramatic portrayal.

Technical Aspects: The cinematography skillfully captures the essence of Bhairavakona, complemented by adequate visual effects and seamless editing. Shekar Chandra’s music adds vibrance to the film, with a captivating background score that enhances the eerie atmosphere. The production design, set work, and sound design contribute significantly to the film’s aesthetic appeal.

Analysis: Despite initial hype surrounding the collaboration between VI Anand and Sundeep Kishan, ‘Ooru Peru Bhairavakona’ fails to meet expectations. While the story holds promise, its execution falters, particularly in the second half. A disjointed narrative rushed pacing, and disconnected subplots detract from the overall experience. Director VI Anand’s attempt to interweave multiple narrative threads results in confusion and unanswered questions for the audience.

Verdict: Overall, ‘Ooru Peru Bhairavakona’ is a disappointing attempt from VI Anand and Sundeep Kishan. While the first half makes sense, things go out of hand in the second half. A good subject is spoilt by some illogical and silly narration making this film a below-par watch this weekend.
