Nayanthara’s Annapoorani Gets Surrounded by Controversy

Nayanthara renowned as Lady Superstar recently marked her 75th film milestone with ‘Annapoorani The Goddess of Food.’ This Tamil movie featuring Jai, Sathyaraj, KS Ravikumar, and others, was directed by Nikilesh Krishna and exclusively released in Tamil on December 1.

However, the film has become entangled in controversy. Velu, the state president of Rashtriya Hindu Maha Sabha has criticized its storyline alleging disrespect toward the Brahmin community. His objection centers on the portrayal of a romance between a Muslim boy and a Brahmin girl.

Velu has called for a ban on the movie threatening legal action and vowing to obstruct its screening in theaters. He insists that films targeting Hindu beliefs should not be allowed. The film jointly produced by Zee Studios, Nat Studios, and Trident Arts, revolves around Nayanthara’s character of a woman from a Brahmin family striving to become an outstanding Indian chef despite opposition from her father.

Despite the controversy Nayanthara continues to actively promote the film while the movie’s team has not issued an official response to the objections raised. ‘Annapoorani The Goddess of Food’ has received mixed reviews but has captured attention due to its unique plot marking a significant milestone in Nayanthara’s illustrious career.
