Mansoor Ali Khan, who has been widely criticized for making insensitive remarks about Trisha Krishnan, asked the actress for forgiveness on Friday.
He later tweeted ‘To my fellow actress Trisha, please forgive me!’ said the 62-year-old star in a recent public statement. Allow God to bless me by having me at your wedding.’
This statement, however, did not sit well with netizens, who questioned its sincerity and expressed doubt about the apology’s sincerity. ‘Where has the apology gone? He begs forgiveness!’ tweeted one X (previously known as Twitter) user.
Mansoor is said to have been questioned by Chennai police on Thursday. He is being investigated in connection with a case filed against him for allegedly making insensitive remarks about Trisha. Mansoor entered All Women Police Station at Thousand Lights.
Mansoor Ali Khan’s anticipatory bail application is denied by the court. The National Commission for Women filed a police complaint against the actor after his controversial video went viral on social media. Mansoor was seen in the short clip lamenting the absence of bedroom scenes with Trisha in Vijay’s hit film Leo.
Trisha lashed out at his remarks after the video went viral on the Internet, and the NCW asked the Tamil Nadu police to take strict action against Mansoor. Pervasive sexism and misogyny in the film industry should not be considered norm. Cases were filed against him under sections 354 (intent to offend modesty) and 509 (uttering words, gesturing, or acting in a manner intended to offend a woman’s modesty). Mansoor also sent out a video message to his fans, informing them that he did not flee after the police summoned him.
