In his emphatic style, he proclaimed that within five years, Telugu people would dominate Hollywood and Bollywood, and even Ranbir Kapoor would relocate to Hyderabad within a year.
Malla Reddy’s passionate praise for Hyderabad and Telugu cinema seemed excessive, leading to backlash from some Bollywood fans. Such statements risk creating tension between North and South audiences, detrimental to both film industries.
Certain Bollywood enthusiasts argue that Ranbir should have defended Bollywood, offering a strong counter to Malla Reddy. Advance bookings worldwide have been exceptional. National multiplex chains (PVR, INOX, Cinepolis) reported around 95K in advance bookings on Sunday, expected to reach approximately 135K by Monday’s close. Animal’s bookings surpass Tiger 3, which had around 123K at the same time. Animal is poised to collect 45 crores net at the Indian box office, surpassing Tiger 3’s opening day collections released on the big Diwali holiday.
