Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan is back on the silver screen with Jawan. It is the second film of the actor this year. Pathaan was a huge hit at the box office. The film’s advance booking has shattered Pathan’s box office records.

Here’s our review of Jawan:

Plot: Vikram Rathore (Shah Rukh Khan) is an Indian soldier who chooses an unconventional way to do good for the people. He hijacks a metro station and holds the passengers as hostages. He demands NSG officer Narmada (Nayanthara) to negotiate with him. During the process, Narmada understands that Vikram wants businessman Khaali Gaikwad (Vijay Sethupathi) to do his bidding. What is the connection between Vikram Rathore and Khaali Gaikwad? The rest of the story reveals Vikram’s main goal.

Performances: It is a tailor-made film for SRK; he holds the film. He is looking fantastic on the silver screen. He shines in all avatars. Nayanthara looks super cool in the film. Vijay Sethupathi is perfect for the negative role, as he nailed it. Priyamani and the rest of the cast did their part in the film.

Analysis: Jawan’s first half is so engaging, especially the pre-interval portion. The second half has so many lag portions. The music by Anirudh is a wonderful one. He deserves a huge round of applause for his background music. The screenplay is rushed, shaky and sometimes forced. But we love it because this is a society-oriented movie. Jawan seems to be related to the current central government and their policies, and ties with other countries.

GK Vishnu’s cinematography is a blast. Anthony L Ruben’s editing is top-notch and might deserve some private awards. Deepika Padukone looks awesome and is the best the film could have had for its flashback. The emotions work very well in some portions, while they don’t in others.

Verdict: Jawan is a must-watch film for this weekend. Mass ki baap is back and will surely take over the box office. You’ll be hearing about the film for a long time to come.
