Animal Ott Release: Ranbir Kapoor’s highly anticipated film, ‘Animal,’ recently secured an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), indicating its mature and intense content. Surprising fans with its substantial 3-hour runtime, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga-directed movie delves into the intricate father-son dynamic portrayed by Ranbir and Anil Kapoor. Reports now unveil that the OTT version is poised to be even lengthier, spanning 3 hours and 21 minutes.
Addressing concerns about the extended duration, Ranbir Kapoor assured audiences, stating, “The story of ‘Animal’ requires this amount of time to reach the audience. We saw the first cut that was 3 hours and 49 mins and we were entertained. Don’t be panicked by the length and just come experience cinema at its best.”
Initially, the plan was to release the longer version in theaters with two intervals, but this decision was considered risky. Responding to distributor concerns, some scenes were edited to bring down the theatrical runtime to 3 hours and 21 minutes.
The upcoming OTT version is expected to retain the originally intended extended runtime, offering viewers a more immersive narrative experience. Boasting a stellar cast including Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles, ‘Animal’ ventures into uncharted territories in relationship dynamics, promising to be a cinematic spectacle.
Scheduled for a theatrical release on December 1, ‘Animal’ will clash with Vicky Kaushal‘s ‘Sam Bahadur.’ Originally slated for an August release, the decision to postpone reflects the strategic thinking of director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who follows up the success of ‘Kabir Singh’ with this unique narrative and cinematic endeavor.
