Kannada Star Shiva Raj Kumar greets the Telugu audience from time to time. He recently made noise with Rajinikanth in ‘Jailer’. Now he is ready to entertain with the stylish action thriller ‘Ghost’ movie directed by MG Srinivas. what is the story of this ‘ghost’? What kind of experience did it give to the cinephiles?

Story: Vaman Srinivasan (Prasanth Narayanan) is a former CBI officer. After 10 years of struggle, he got government approval for the Central Jail privatization bill in Karnataka. A gang kidnaps Vaman, who enters the jail to perform Bhumi Puja and his group. They are imprisoned in a tower of the same prison. The government deployed Charan Raj (Jayaram) as a special officer to solve this case. In his research, he storms the jail and learns that Vaman was detained by Big Daddy (Shiva Rajkumar), who died ten years ago. And who is that Big Daddy? Why did he want to target Vaman while he was in jail? (Ghost Telugu Movie Review) What about the thousand kg of gold in that jail? What is the link between the Ghost in Pitamaha Agency and Big Daddy? Are they the same? You have to watch the movie to know that.

Performances: The movie “Ghost” is a routine gangster drama with elements of mass action, but it takes an interesting turn towards the end with a spy thriller touch. The hero kidnaps an ex-CBI officer in a high-security prison, leading to a showdown with the police system. The screenplay is crucial for such stories, and the mind games between the hero and the police add thrills. The film starts well with an attack on Vaman Srinivasan in jail, and the story gains momentum when Charan Raj is brought in to solve the kidnapping case. However, the sentimental track and some prison scenes slow down the narrative.

The second half explores Big Daddy’s past, the gold in jail, and his challenges to the police. Shivraj Kumar shines in a dual role, and the action sequences are well-styled. Jayaram delivers a strong performance as a police officer, while Archana Jois’ character feels like a distraction. The film offers a fresh story, stylish action, and impressive background music by Arjun Janya, but some key questions are left for a sequel, making the ending less satisfying.

Plus Points:

  • Story background
  • Acting by Siva Rajkumar
  • Action scenes

Minus Points:

  • Slow story
  • Flag scenes

Analysis: The film’s plot introduction captivates but lacks consistent engagement. Improved screenplay potential for greater success. Arjun Janya’s music enhances the appeal, enriching the experience. Mahendra Simha’s cinematography meets standards, but Deepu, the editor, could make more judicious second-half cuts for smoother viewing. Subpar dubbing.

Verdict: The ‘Ghost’ Movie is an action riot for the audience.
