Satyadev makes a comeback with Zebra, a crime thriller that explores the dark world of bank fraud. Directed by Eashvar Karthic, the film boasts an impressive cast, including Priya Bhavani Shankar and Dolly Dhananjaya. But does Zebra live up to its promise?
The film’s narrative revolves around Surya (Satyadev), a bank employee who gets entangled in a web of fraud. As Surya navigates this complex world, he must confront the menacing Aadi (Dolly Dhananjaya) and find a way to clear his name.
Satyadev delivers a solid performance, showcasing his range as an actor. Priya Bhavani Shankar shines in a well-written role, bringing depth and nuance to her character. However, Dolly Dhananjaya’s character feels underdeveloped, lacking the menace required to make an impact.
Eashvar Karthic’s script is engaging, but the screenplay is overly complex, with too many subplots that slow down the pace. Ravi Basrur’s background score is decent, but the songs are forgettable. The camera work is commendable, particularly in the slow-motion shots.
Zebra has all the ingredients of a gripping thriller, but it falls short due to its complex narrative and slow pacing. Despite its flaws, the film is engaging, with a few standout performances and some impressive thrills. If you’re a fan of crime thrillers, Zebra might be worth a watch, but be prepared for a complex and sometimes dull ride.
