Tollywood actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has finally opened up about her divorce from Naga Chaitanya in 2021. In a recent interview with Galatta India, Samantha spoke candidly about the intense trolling she faced after her divorce.
Samantha addressed the societal challenges women face, particularly in patriarchal contexts where any relationship fallout often leads to severe scrutiny. “Unfortunately, we live in a society which is so patriarchal in nature, that anytime something goes wrong, a woman gets subjected to… I’m not saying men don’t, men do, but a woman gets subjected to a lot more judgment and a lot more shaming, not just online, even in real life.”
The actress revealed how untrue things were said about her during her divorce and how this fuelled the online abuse. However, she was determined not to let the lies define her.
Samantha’s divorce from Naga Chaitanya was highly publicized, with many speculating about the reasons behind their split. However, Samantha chose to maintain her silence, focusing on her career and personal growth instead.
