Ranbir Kapoor has opened up for the first time about his role as Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. In an interview with Deadline, Ranbir shared that he has completed shooting for part one of the film and will soon begin work on part two. He described the experience as a “very gratifying opportunity” for him as an actor.
Speaking About Ramayana Ranbir expressed his excitement, stating, “I am currently working on a film called Ramayan, which is India’s greatest story. It’s produced by Namit Malhotra with artists, creators, and crew members from around the world. It’s made in two parts, telling the story of Lord Ram and Raavan. Bringing this epic to the new generation with our technology is an exciting and gratifying opportunity for me, especially playing Lord Ram.”
Details from Ranbir At a recent festival, he added, “Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film has two parts. I have finished shooting Part 1 and will soon start on Part 2. Being part of this story and playing Ram’s role is humbling. It’s a dream for me. The film encompasses everything, teaching about Indian culture, family dynamics, and husband-wife relationships. I am very excited about it.”
About the Film Ramayana The much-anticipated Ramayana, announced by Namit Malhotra last month, will be released in two parts. Part One will hit theaters in 2026, followed by Part Two in 2027. The unveiled poster shows an arrow against a fiery sky.
As per reports, Sai Pallavi will play Sita, Yash will portray Ravana, Lara Dutta will be Kaikeyi, Sunny Deol will take on the role of Hanuman, and Sheeba Chaddha will be seen as Manthara. A leaked picture from the film set featuring Ranbir and Sai in costume went viral on social media earlier this year.
