Actor Karthikeya’s Bedurulanka 2012 is produced by Ravindra Benerjee Muppaneni under Loukya Entertainments. Karthikeya and Neha Shetty will appear in prominent roles. The film is directed by Clax, who is making a directorial debut with the movie. Ahead of the film’s release, Benny interacted with the media and shared a few interesting details.
Tell us about your background.
Ravindra Benerjee: I was born and bought up in Hyderabad. I am passionate about films. I worked for six years in the software industry. Later, I entered the industry as a producer.
What made you name the film Bedurulanka 2012?
Fear plays a key role in the film. The title is in sync with the story. It is an imaginary tale that pans out in 21 days. It was believed that, in 2012, the world will come to an end. That’s why the year is mentioned in the title. (Recently, director Clax said that there is a Hollywood film named ‘2012’ regarding the same myth. It was dubbed into Telugu as ‘Yugantham’).
Tell us about Karthikeya and the experience of working with him.
He is a very professional and dedicated person to his craft. I want to work with him again.
What’s Karthikeya’s role in Bedurulanka 2012?
Karthikeya‘s character in the movie will be loved by everyone. He and Neha Shetty are childhood lovers in the film. We live as we like but when you are scared of death, how do things change? The film has all ingredients such as comedy and emotions.
Was it your choice to cast Neha Shetty. Or, was it the director’s call?
She got craze with DJ Tillu. She looked fantastic in DJ Tillu as a modern and urban girl. Director Clax thought she would be the perfect female lead for the film. After a test shoot, we felt and we were happy with our decision.
You’re working with a debutant director? Don’t you think you took a risk?
We bought experienced technicians to match the vision of Clax. Music director Mani Sharma and the rest of the crew haven’t compromised anywhere. They gave their best to the film.
What’s Ram Charan’s reaction to the trailer of the film?
Before launching the trailer, Charan asked me about the storyline. After watching the trailer, he liked the concept of the film. He complimented Karthikeya and Neha Shetty’s pairing and also the score.
What is up next?
We have okayed three films and will announce them after the release of Bedurulanka 2012 on August 25.
