Jana Sena Party president and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister, Pawan Kalyan, recently shared his thoughts on the tragic Sandhya Theatre stampede on December 4, which led to the death of a woman and her son being hospitalized.
While addressing the incident, Pawan Kalyan maintained a balanced view, avoiding blame on his nephew Allu Arjun or the Revanth Reddy-led government in Telangana. He highlighted that fans’ excitement often leads to such unfortunate events and emphasized the need for better precautions.
“Film stars deserve recognition, and there’s nothing wrong with Allu Arjun attending the theatre,” he said. He also defended Allu Arjun’s decision to greet his fans, explaining that not doing so could lead to negative perceptions.
However, he stressed that proper measures should have been in place, stating, “The staff should have informed Allu Arjun about the situation beforehand.”
Pawan Kalyan also reflected on his past experiences and commended Revanth Reddy as a leader. He expressed that Allu Arjun should have shown more empathy by visiting the victims’ families, adding, “It would have been better if someone from Allu Arjun’s side had reached out to the victims’ families the very next day.”
He concluded by saying that cinema is a team effort and it is unfair to single out Allu Arjun as the sole culprit. “In cinema, it’s a team effort. In this case, Allu Arjun has been made the sole culprit, which I believe is not right,” he noted.
