Game Changer: Makers Splurge a Jaw-Dropping ₹75 Crores on Just Five Songs

In the land of big-budget spectacles and lavish musical numbers, Global Star Ram Charan’s upcoming film Game Changer has set a new benchmark. After the teaser became an instant blockbuster with fans and audiences alike, the recent pre-release event in Dallas (USA) added more fuel to the already blazing hype. And just when you thought things couldn’t get grander, the filmmakers dropped a bombshell: a whopping ₹75 crore was spent on the songs alone.

Highlights of the Songs (or should we say, the symphony of extravagance):

  1. Jaragandi: Shot over 13 days on a specially constructed 70-feet hill-village set (because why not?), this song features around 600 dancers grooving for 8 days straight. Legendary choreographer Prabhu Dheva, working ‘out of gratitude’ for director Shankar, brought the magic to life. And here’s the kicker – for the first time ever, eco-friendly costumes made of Jampanara (jute) were used. Because sustainability goes hand in hand with extravagance, right?
  2. Ra Macha Macha: This introduction song of Ram Charan, choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, is an ode to Indian dance forms and folklore art. It flaunts over 1000 folk dancers alongside the star, showcasing dances from every nook and corner of India. Yes, you read that right – from Gussadi in Adilabad to Durua in Orissa, the song is a cultural montage on steroids.
  3. NaaNaaHyraanaa: Claiming the title of the first Indian song shot on an ‘infrared camera’ to bring out a kaleidoscope of colors, this dream sequence is a fusion of western and Carnatic sounds, featuring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani prancing around in picturesque New Zealand. Manish Malhotra worked his magic with the costumes, while Thaman composed a melody so unique, it supposedly redefines the concept of sound itself. Six days of shooting and countless dancers later, we’re told it captures the ‘purity and innocence of intense love.’
  4. Dhop: A techno dance number shot during the COVID second wave with around 100 professional dancers flown in from Russia – because if you’re going to break social distancing norms, do it with style! The song was shot over 8 days across three lavish sets at RFC, with Manish Malhotra once again on costume duty. Ram Charan and Kiara Advani’s sizzling moves, coupled with futuristic visuals, are bound to make you forget about the pandemic blues.
  5. The Surprise Package: The filmmakers have kept this one under wraps, urging audiences to experience the thrill on the big screen. Shot amid the scenic Godavari backdrop, this song promises to be the pièce de résistance of the film.

Game Changer is set for a grand release in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi on January 10, 2025, as a Sankranti festival special. Get ready for a visual and auditory overload like never before!
