FIR Lodged Against Nayanthara’s Annapoorani

South Indian Lady Superstar Nayanthara recently completed the milestone of 50 films in her career. She has been the highest-paid South Indian actress for a long time. However, her latest film, ‘Annapoorani’ landed into trouble after the film received severe criticism.

‘Annapoorani’ has been accused of hurting the religious sentiments of the people and promoting Love Jihad. An FIR has been filed against Nayanthara and the team of ‘Annapoorani’ claiming that the film has offended Hindu sentiments. The FIR includes the names of Nayanthara, Jai, and Nilesh Krishna, as well as producers Jatin Sethi, R Ravindran, and Punit Goenka.

Shariq Patel (Zee Studios Chief Business Officer) and Monika Shergill (Netflix India Head) are also mentioned in the FIR. Protests have erupted across Tamil Nadu, with calls for a ban on the film gaining momentum.

‘Annapoorani’ narrates the story of a traditional Brahmin girl who falls in love with a Muslim man and eventually marries him. As the plot unfolds, she starts cooking non-vegetarian dishes and eventually earns the title of Master Chef. The film has faced criticism from various quarters, and it is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
