Festival poster: ‘Teppa Samudram’ says Mahabharatam is part of the Gita
‘Teppa Samudram’ is the title of an upcoming movie starring Arjun Ambati and Chaitanya Rao in the lead. Kishori Dhatrak of the recent ‘Korameenu’ fame is its heroine. Marking Maha Shivaratri, a poster was released by director Satish Rapolu. A mystery drama, this soon-to-be-released movie is produced by Neerukanti Manjula and Raghavendra Goud under Srimani Entertainments. Talking about the movie, the makers said, “Post-production works are on. ‘Bommali’ Ravi Shankar has got a key role. Playback singer Mangli has rendered a superb song, which will be unveiled soon.” Today’s poster is about a man clad in a khaki shirt standing behind a table. By hiding his identity, the makers have tried to create suspense. We see a copy of the Bhagavad Gita under one hand and a knife is also seen. The National Emblem symbolizing Dharma is also seen. A dove standing for peace is also seen. The sight of a Law book also suggests that the film deals with difficult moral and philosophical issues. The film seems to propagate this view: “The Bhagavad Gita is not a part of the Mahabharatam.. The Mahabharatam itself is a part of the Gita.” The makers said that the Gita is not a religious book but a guiding force for mankind. All this gives the impression that ‘Teppa Samudram’ is an action-drama with loads of literary and religious themes. More Written and directed by Satish Rapolu, the film’s music is composed by PR. The lyrics have been penned by Penchal Das, Balaji and Purnachari.
