Amid Allu Arjun Row, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Meets Tollywood Biggies, Emphasizes ‘Celebrities Must Control Their Fans’

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy recently met with prominent Tollywood actors and filmmakers amid tensions following the arrest of actor Allu Arjun. The meeting aimed to address the strained relationship between the state government and the Telugu film industry.

Revanth Reddy assured the attendees that his government supports the Telugu film industry and emphasized that there will be no compromise on law and order. The meeting took place at the Telangana State Police Command and Control Centre in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.

The delegation, led by Telangana Film Development Corporation (FDC) chairman Dil Raju, included notable actors such as Nagarjuna, Varun Tej, Sai Dharam Tej, Kalyan Ram, Shiva Balaji, Adavi Sesh, Nithin, and Venkatesh. Directors Koratala Siva, Anil Ravipudi, K Raghavendra Rao, Prashanth Varma, Sai Rajesh, and producers Suresh Babu, KL Narayana, Damodhar, Allu Aravind, BVSN Prasad, and Chinna Babu were also present.

During the meeting, Revanth Reddy highlighted the importance of celebrities controlling their fans and the industry’s responsibility in maintaining order. This statement came in light of the tragic incident on December 4, when a massive crowd gathered at Sandhya Theatre for the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule, leading to the death of a 35-year-old woman and injuries to her eight-year-old child.

The incident sparked political controversy, with some ruling Congress leaders criticizing Allu Arjun‘s comments, which described the stampede as accidental and denied allegations of a “roadshow” before the film screening. Revanth Reddy criticized the actor for holding a roadshow and waving to the crowd, while Allu Arjun refuted these allegations, calling them an attempt at “character assassination.”

Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13 in connection with the woman’s death and was granted a four-week interim bail by the Telangana High Court the following day. He was released from prison on December 14 after furnishing a ₹50,000 bond. On Tuesday, he was questioned by Hyderabad police regarding the incident.

The meeting between Revanth Reddy and Tollywood biggies underscores the need for better coordination and responsibility within the industry to prevent such incidents in the future.
